A few weekends ago, I attended a prayer retreat. It was a blend of group time for direction and individual time for reflection. The morning was organized around Psalm 16 and as I headed out to walk and pray, I saw this little path, just a shortcut from one of the longer paths to another. I stopped and looked at it, thinking about the paths I choose each day. In verse 11 of Psalm 16, I read, You show me the path of life, In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forever. On this first day of the month, I am choosing to seek a path that will lead me to that fullness of joy. I am stepping onto this path, a month-long journey of reading and praying and writing reflectively.
