Ah, summer break.  This has been a good one.  Daily life has been so sweet and so I am taking inspiration from Ali Edwards again with a “right now” slice for today:

Right now I am reading two great books,

a mercyA Mercy by Toni Morrison, the story of a group of women, very unlikely companions, during the early years of the slave trade in America.  Each voice reveals the differences and similarities in their lives.

homemade life

A Homemade Lifeby Molly Wizenberg – a memoir/cookbook that is so entertaining and simple.  It has reminded me of the importance of those simple memories.

bike on the trailI am riding my bike or walking on the trail every day and trying to pay attention to the butterflies, herons, eagles, and dragonflies instead of just keeping my head down and completing the task of exercise.

little red and greenI am working on quilt blocks and projects, some old that I am excited to finish and some new like this red and green applique block – number one of five to come.

little tea book

And I am playing with paper and some of the things I have been collecting.  Here is a little tea time book I made using tea box lids, photos, and fun paper to create a place to record memories of tea time (inspired by this post).

And I am beginning to record those stories, those memories that I want to share with my daughters.  It is a “write something every day” personal challenge but so very important.

Right now, I am very happy.  Life is sweet.
